Rooted in the Region. Serious About Design.
Serious Fun Studio is a small architecture and design firm based in the Methow Valley, founded by creative partners and spouses Kit and Sam Kollmeyer. The studio brings combined experience in architecture, design, and construction to every project, from the first sketch to the last detail.
This is the ethos that animates everything the studio does. Collaborative by nature — the team loves connecting with clients and builders to shape projects that are both highly functional and genuinely delightful. Whether designing a mountain retreat, a hillside residence, or a community gathering space, the studio approaches each commission with curiosity, craft, and a deep respect for place.

A commitment to regional mountain modern design, with several residences completed in the Lake Chelan area.
Hillside residence with sweeping views, pool and spa, and a seamless indoor-outdoor aesthetic. Low-profile design merges with the terrain using muted materials and rich natural textures.
At the crown of the development with commanding Lake Chelan views, pool and spa. Hygge-inspired warmth, grounded in its hillside setting and refined in every detail.
Mountain modern home set among ponderosa pines. Dark board-and-batten siding, extensive glazing, and deeply integrated landscape design.
We know the light on the water, the feel of the hillsides, the way a home can either embrace or ignore its landscape — and that familiarity, paired with a career built on craft and exceptional design, makes Serious Fun Studio a natural fit.
Kit grew up in Lake Chelan and has designed multiple residences in the area, giving the studio an intimate understanding of the site, the views, and what makes a home here truly special.
Experience in construction gives us an edge that translates directly into constructible, cost-aware design — bridging the gap between vision and reality.
Our portfolio speaks the precise architectural language Noche Vista envisions — natural materials, clean lines, landscape integration, and indoor-outdoor living.
Architecture, interior design, landscape design, construction administration, and planning — all under one roof, all from one team.
Direct principal involvement on every project. You'll always be working with the people whose names are on the door.
Our goal is to connect with people in a meaningful way and produce exceptional work.
